Approximately 7 days prior to your scheduled Stage II Vapor Rcovery Witness Test, we will be at your site to conduct a Preliminary Test.

A Preliminary Test is necessary to find any potential problems in the vapor recovery equipment that could cause the Witness Test to fail.

The main difference between the Preliminary and Witness Tests is that during the Preliminary Test, there are no time restrictions for completing the test and a representative from ADWM is not present. During the Preliminary Test, all of your equipment is tested to the same standards as the Witness Test to ensure system integrity and optimum operation.

We'll also ask to see your daily inspection logs and state issued documents that the inspectors will ask for to ensure they are available at the time of the Witness Test, and that they are complete.

Down time during the Preliminary Test varies and depends on the type of system in use.

For Balance systems, the system has to be shut down in order to conduct the tests.

For Vacuum Assist systems, there is less actual shut down time involved unless a problem is encountered.

A preliminary test can last from 4 to 8 hours (or more in some cases) depending on the condition of the equipment.
